Josh Pena, Although the insurance carrier's original offer was a mere $1,000, Hafif vigilantly attacked the insurance carriers claims of comparative negligence and received over 95 times the original offer.

SETTLEMENT - BREACH OF CONTRACT FOR LYLE PARKS - $87,000,000
Cynthia Hafif was retained by one of the most reputable and largest general contractors in Southern California, Lyle Parks Jr Construction (“LPJ”) to pursue a breach of contract case against an owner/developer after LPJ constructed an $87,000,000 shopping center in San Diego County but was not fully paid. Despite having to fend off defense allegations by the Orange County based firm Ratan & Tucker of delay damages, cost overruns, and construction defects, there was no mercy to the defense. Stop notices and mechanics liens were placed on owners property and week long consecutive depositions were taken of key players, which ultimately resulted in a settlement and payment. Although the terms of the settlement are confidential, the owner of Lyle Parks, Inc., Tim Mayeda, was pleased with the result.

SETTLEMENT - WRONGFUL DEATH (DUI) - $1,500,000 +
[Jan 26, 2009] On Aug 31, 2007, Sean Murphy was struck when walking on the sidewalk by drunk driver, Jerry Ganz, Jr. Murphy died within hours of impact. Despite Ganz being defended by well known defense lawyer Robert Shapiro, a settlement was reached far beyond the policy limits and a treatment facility was built in memory of Sean Murphy for alcohol addiction.
